2月3日［金］より、ISSEY MIYAKE GINZA / 445 にて「IKKO TANAKA ISSEY MIYAKE No.6 Special Installation［The Plant Series］」が開催されます。三澤デザイン研究室は、会場構成・展示作品・DM・冊子のデザインを担当しました。展示空間の着想のエッセンスとして、田中一光氏のグラフィックから色紙という素材や鮮やかな色を、イッセイ ミヤケの衣服から造形や機能性、動きを抽出し、それらを無数の紙の粒子として表現しました。会場では粒子たちがひそひそと動き、静かに色を発しています。それはまるで、色そのものが生きているような不思議な光景。空間、グラフィック、衣服が溶け合ったような世界。ぜひ会場に足をお運びいただき、ご体感ください。

グラフィックデザイナー、田中一光氏の作品をモチーフにするプロジェクトは、田中氏への尊敬と感謝の意を込めるとともに、作品の魅力をより広く伝えるために、2016年から始まりました。今回のコレクションでは、田中氏のグラフィックの持つ構図そのものを衣服の構造に取り込みました。イッセイ ミヤケの培ってきた技術と融合することで、互いに一着のデザインを構成しています。田中氏のグラフィックの持つ力強い図像と色彩は、驚きや喜びの感情、そして純粋な好奇心を引き出してくれます。どんな時代においても人々が前に進む力を与えてくれる、IKKO TANAKA ISSEY MIYAKEのコレクションです。

IKKO TANAKA ISSEY MIYAKE No.6 Special Installation [The Plant Series] will be held at ISSEY MIYAKE GINZA / 445 from February 3 Friday. Misawa Design Institute was in charge of the exhibition space, works, DM, and booklet design. As the essence of the exhibition space, we extracted the colored paper as the material and vivid colors from Ikko Tanaka’s graphics, and the form, functionality, and movement from ISSEY MIYAKE's clothing, and expressed them as countless paper particles. In the exhibition space, the particles move quietly and emit colors softly. It is a mysterious scene as if the colors themselves are alive. It is a world where space, graphics, and clothing seem to blend together. Please come to the venue and experience it for yourself.

Featuring the work of graphic designer Ikko Tanaka, IKKO TANAKA ISSEY MIYAKE is a project that started in 2016, with respect and appreciation to the designer, to explore and further convey the aesthetic of his creative work. This collection goes beyond representing Tanaka’s work to integrate his graphic compositions into the construction of the garments—a product of Tanaka’s graphic design and ISSEY MIYAKE’s design and making. The compelling images and elaborate use of color found in Tanaka’s work bring a sense of joy and wonder and elicit pure curiosity. This collection of IKKO TANAKA ISSEY MIYAKE embraces the timeless beauty of Tanaka’s work like every past collection, as it invigorates people in their everyday living.
