「地球のあらゆるものが集まる場所のひとつは、浜辺かもしれない」という仮説のもと、収集されたマテリアル群です。本展でグラフィックデザインを担当する三澤 遥らは、浜辺に打ち上がって堆積した無数の「何か」を手にします。時間をかけて波に削られ、角が取れて丸みを帯び、もはや原型が何だったのかさえ定かではないものたち。それらは自然と人工の境も曖昧で、関係が溶け合うような不思議な佇まいをもっています。固有の情報が波で削られ、匿名性を獲得したそれらは総じて、私たちの想像力を掻き立てます。三澤は、自身が手にしたのはその時その瞬間の姿でしかないといいます。波打ち際から、絡まり合いながら流れ動く地球の縮図が本作から見えてくることでしょう。

展覧会「Material, or 」出品作品／展覧会ディレクター：吉泉 聡 *

The exhibited here are materials collected by Haruka Misawa under her hypothesis that ’a beach is a place where every type of material can come together. Misawa is also responsible for the graphic designs of this exhibition. She and her team hand-picked all manner of ‘somethings’ piled up on the seashore. These beached items, long washed by the waves, had all their corners rounded off. There was no trace of what they once were. With all specificities gone, their anonymity stimulates the imagination. Misawa explains how these smooth forms present a particular transient moment. Scenes that unfolded at the water’s edge allow us to grasp the microcosm of a world where all things are interrelated and in constant flow.
