飛騨の森で育まれ、HIDAの匠の手から生まれたHIHI（ヒヒ）とDADA（ダダ）。似ているところもあるけれど、似ていないところもある兄弟姉妹のような一対の椅子です。素直なヒヒ。自由なダダ。椅子は座るためのプロダクトである一方で、その身近な存在感は人にとって仲間や家族のようです。「うちにはHIHIがいる」「うちにはDADAがいる」「うちにはどっちもいる」 。そんなふうに親しみを感じてもらえるようなものの在り方を探りました。

HIHI and DADA, reared in the forests of Hida, are crafted by hand by HIDA artisans. As a pair of chairs, HIHI and DADA are like brothers or sisters—similar in some ways, but very different in others. HIHI is the calm, straightforward one, while DADA is unconventional. Both are products for sitting on, but they are designed to engender a familiarity that will see them welcomed into the home like good friends or part of the family. Family members will want to share their feelings: “We’ve got a HIHI,” “We have a DADA,” or maybe even “We’ve got both!”
