昔の晴臣くんと、今の細野さん。そのふたりが、ずっと好きでいる音楽や映画、漫画などについて、時空をこえて語り合うような展覧会が『細野さんと晴臣くん』です。この展覧会は、2025年の2月と3月に、中学や高校代の晴臣くんのノートを見ながらひっそりと行われた細野さんへのインタビューをもとにつくられています。子どもや青年だった晴臣くんが夢中で描いたノートの落書きに、大人になった細野さんの言葉が添えられている。そんな構成を通して、小さなころからのずっと好きが、歳を重ねてからもずっと新鮮な発見を与えてくれるという、意外で、でも実は誰もが身に覚えのあるはずのできごとを思い起こせるかもしれません。また会場では、遠い記憶に耳を澄ませるように、展示台や展示物を通じて細野さんの歌声を聴くことができるインスタレーションが展開されています。そこで歌われている音楽はどれも、好きだったアーティストの曲を細野さんがカバーしたものばかりです。ぜひ静かに耳を寄せてみてください。五十数年前、大学生の晴臣くんと同じ時代の空気を吸っていたこの建築の一室で、細野さんと晴臣くんのずっと好きなものたちが、みなさまを待っています。

Haruomi, once a little boy, has grown into the man we now know as Mr. Hosono. This exhibition, Little Haruomi and Mr. Hosono, reads like a conversation across time between the two centered on music, films, manga, and other long-held fascinations. The ideas were collected through intimate interviews held in February and March of 2025, where Mr.Hosono reflected on old notebooks the little Haruomi kept during his middle and high school days. The words from Mr.Hosono are alongside the doodles and sketches of Haruomi. Through a reflective monologue addressed to the boy he once was, you may find that the things you have loved since childhood can continue to bring fresh discoveries. Complementing this, you will hear Mr. Hosono’s voice from the sound installations, as gentle as if inviting you to the echoes remembered. Draw near and catch a glimpse of what once moved him through the songs he covered from various artists. Over fifty years ago, this room already existed when Haruomi was still a university student. Today, in this very space, the cherished treasures of Mr. Hosono and little Haruomi await your discovery.
