六本木・東京ミッドタウンに新しくオープンした HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE / ROPPONGI の空間デザインを担当しました。公園や広場を思わせる「まあるい空間」をテーマに、柔らかな曲線でかたどった壁は奥行きの印象を和らげ、淡い陰影のトーンで空間を穏やかに包み込みます。中央には二つの造形物を配置しました。一つは、平たくなった石鹸のようなフォルムのソファ。もう一つは、紙を石で挟んで詰んだような佇まいのシェルフ。それらが交わることで、空間全体に夢の中のような不思議な浮遊感が生まれています。2.5×3.3m の大きなソファは商品を並べるテーブルとしても活用可能で、曲線に沿って並ぶ服はシーズンごとにまったく異なる印象をもたらします。この空間は、常に創造とともに変化し続ける"余白"のような場です。

We were in charge of the spatial design for the newly opened HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE / ROPPONGI in Tokyo Midtown, Roppongi. Inspired by the idea of a "round, park-like space," the softly curved walls soften the sense of depth and envelop the interior in gentle tones of light and shadow. At the center, two sculptural elements are placed: one is a sofa shaped like a bar of soap worn smooth, and the other is a shelf resembling stacked paper and stone. As these two forms interact, they give rise to a dreamlike sense of buoyant suspension throughout the space.

The large 2.5 × 3.3 m sofa can also function as a display table, and the garments arranged along the curves offer entirely different impressions each season. This space serves as a kind of "blank margin," a place that is always shifting and evolving alongside ongoing creation.
