点、線、面、薄、厚、硬、柔、密、粗。一枚の紙に異なる性質を共存させてみると、それぞれの性質と性質の境目に、紙という素材ならではの機能が現れはじめます。一枚の紙が大きく膨らんで、伸びて、広がっていく。でもそれを元に戻すと、ペタッとした平たい形になる。立体が消える。その落差は、紙だから生み出せるものです。制作では設計図ではなく手を動かして考えることで、「パッケージとはこういうもの」という既成概念から解き放たれた、身体的で有機的な造形を探りました。加工は切るだけの最小限の手数にとどめ、あくまでも紙本来の機能を浮かび上がらせることを重視しています。さらに外箱、内箱、土台、緩衝材、包装、紐など、従来は役割ごとに別々で制作されていたパッケージの要素の境界を曖昧にし、すべてがゆるやかにつながるような構造を考えました。たった一枚の紙の中に潜んでいる膨大な可能性と不思議。それらが引き出されたパッケージが世の中で実用化されるための発想の原形をつくる試みです。

Point, line, plane, thinness, thickness, hardness, softness, density, coarseness. When different properties coexist within a single sheet of paper, the unique functions of paper begin to emerge at the boundaries between these qualities. A sheet of paper can swell, stretch, and expand dramatically. Yet when it returns to its original state, it becomes flat once again—the volume disappears. This striking contrast is something only paper can achieve.
By working directly with my hands instead of starting from a plan, I explored a bodily and organic form liberated from preconceived notions of what a package should be. The process was reduced to the simplest possible intervention—cutting alone—with an emphasis on revealing the inherent functions of paper itself.
Furthermore, I sought to blur the boundaries between the elements of packaging that have traditionally been produced separately according to their individual roles—outer box, inner box, base, cushioning, wrapping, and strings—creating a structure in which everything remains loosely connected.
This project is an attempt to create a conceptual prototype for bringing the vast possibilities and mysteries hidden within a single sheet of paper into practical packaging.
