生い茂る浮き草からわずかに浮き上がった透明のボリューム。よく見ると中には水が満ちています。水のかたまりが島のように水平線の上に顔を出している不思議な風景。上からのぞいてみると、透明の島の中を泳いでいたり、浮き草の陰に潜んだり、両所を自由に行き来する魚を見つけることができます。側面を見てみると、まったく異なる眺めが広がっています。水面下に隠れていた透明の島のかたち、島の開口部を出入りし、浮き草の根をたくみにすり抜けていく魚たち。この水槽に正面はありません。どの角度から観察しても、あらたな発見が次々と浮かび上がってくるはずです。

A transparent volume just barely peeping above the thick growth of duckweed. Close examination shows it to be full of water. It seems strange for a mass of water to pop its head above the pond horizon like an island. Viewing it from above reveals fish swimming within the transparent island, hiding in the shadows of the duckweed, and going back and forth between the two places. Looking at it from the side, however, presents a completely different vista. Underwater, fish slip deftly around the island's shape, in and out of its openings, and through the roots of the duckweed. This aquarium has no front to it—new discoveries emerge one after another regardless of which angle you view it from.
