目を増やす。寄る目。引く目。まわる目。測る目。比べる目。想像する目。色んな目を持っていると、見慣れた世界に潜んでいる、見たこともない姿が見えてきます。たとえば私たちは、ゾウムシのことをほとんど知りません。地球のあらゆる国々に、意外なほどすぐそばに（この施設のまわりにも）いる、とても身近な存在なのに。でも、さまざまな視点から眺めてみると、小さなゾウムシの向こう側に、大きくて広い世界があることがわかってきます。それはまるで宇宙のように果てしない世界です。
「視点の採集」は、ゾウムシの多様な生態の一片をのぞき見ることができる、いくつかの異なる視点を取り集めた展示です。それぞれの目を通して見ているうちに、目の前にいる生きものが静かに教えてくれるはずです。日常には未知があふれていることを。そして、視点をちょっと変えるだけで、目に映る世界が変わって見えてくることを。

Weevils are said to be the largest species within their classification. They differ from each other largely in terms of colour, size and diet. This work shows weevils from multiple angles, using devicesdevises such as lenses and shadow pictures.
Shown here is a collection of viewpoints gained by multiplying, zooming inzooming-in and out, scanning, measuring, comparing and imagining. This revealsrevels never-before-seennever-before seen aspects of a world hidden behind the one we know. We know very little about weevils, although they are ubiquitous in almost every country - always close to us (and all around this museum too). Looking at weevils from different angles reveals a vast and endless world of nature.
Viewpoint Hunting shows glimpses into the diverse ecology of weevils. As you inspect them, the creatures will gradually reveal how full our everyday life is of things unknown. Shifting your viewpoint even slightly dramatically changes the way you see the world.
